Raymond Berenger came from the Dauphiné region of France.

Life and service to the Order
As Master from 1365 to 1374 he governed the Hospitallers from Rhodes and was succeeded by Robert de Juilly.
Rhodes provided the Order with a new island headquarters after its departure from the Holy Land. Its masters balanced hospitaller service, maritime defence and the government of a fortified Mediterranean state.
