Fyodor Ushakov served as an admiral in the Russian navy. The Russian Orthodox Church glorified him as a locally venerated saint at the Sanaksar Monastery on 5 August 2001. Orthodox accounts remember his prayer, care for sailors and charitable life after retirement.
His Orthodox canonization should not be described as Catholic canonization. The sources consulted for this page do not establish that he was a member of the Order of Malta; this entry is placed among related figures rather than in the list of saints and blesseds of the Order.
